Roots in the Woods 2022 Zagreb Launch Party

Peace Messenjah Sound is the fruit of Reggaeneration sound, which has been operating since 2008. Their sound system began to take shape in 2018 when selectors Cool Jah and Dub Spencer bought their first super scoopers. They regularly organize events such as Roots Corner & Dub Corner in their "Peace Messenger City" Slovenj Gradec. They are founders of Roots in the Woods sound system culture festival, which will be held for the fourth year this year and will bring to our region artists from all creations. They are collectors, selectors, and roots music enthusiasts and if we had to describe them in only three words it would definitely be roots rock reggae.

Koneski is a dub producer and selector from Ljubljana that has been releasing productions under the record label "Massive!". He is a resident and host of the show called Massive! Selector's Diary. He also archives music on his Youtube channel Reggae Box. His selections are swinging in an old-school dub, rub-a-dub, and 80's dancehall waters, though he also won't say no to heavy steppers.

Rasta Altitude Sound (R.A.S.) aka Keso Selecta is young and ambitious reggae/roots/dub/dancehall selector. He is interested in almost all styles of reggae and bass music. R.A.S. played at numerous music festivals and music events such as Seasplash Festival, Freemental Festival , Reunited Festival, Gotiva Festival, Regeneracija Dunava, Strobolodobolos, Forestation Festival , A Weekend Block Party, Escape The City Festival and few more. Also he was performing alongside Suns of Dub, Jah Free, Zion Train, Iron Dubz, Daddy Teacha, Pablo Raster, Dubbing Sun, Mexican Stepper, Don Oscar, Egoless, Digitron Soundsystem, Bamwise, Brain Holidays, M.O.R.T. & many more. 

Keso is the founder of the Heshteg association which organizes Fešta festival and RAW & Ram Jam Session club events and is the promoter of Reggae Tuesdays in Masters club (RUUM), one of the hosts and editor of Zion Radio Show on Radio Student, and one of the residents of Dub Lab program in Ljubljana’s Channel Zero Club.

O festivalu: 

This year's fourth edition of the Roots in the Woods festival in Slovenia will be special, as this year's Carinthian roots are spreading, intertwining, and connecting for the common good. Our mission this year is to encourage a departure from the daily hustle and bustle of nature, a gift that is impossible to replace, so this year we will take root among the Pohorje canopy and plains! By returning to our "roots", we will cultivate a respectful attitude towards nature, so the festival will be held in a "zero waste" spirit. During the three days of the festival, over 40 domestic and foreign performers will perform on two stages, and for a full festival flourishing, there will be a diverse range of accompanying activities.
